What I Wear Today

Winter Look

Good morning everyone! Since it’s officially winter I pulled out my sweaters few days ago. And today was a good day to wear one to work. I normally wear pants but this pleated (animal print) skirt is one of my favorite because I can wear it throughout the whole year and mixed it with lighter and cozier clothes. I’m also color kind of girl but I love to wear this monochrome sweater. I styled it with white shirt and ribbon black tie on the neck to get Karl Lagerfeld kind of look (well, he’s famous for this kind of ribbon ties which I adore to wear) and booties. Although it’s cold outside the sun isn't giving up so I had to put on my sunglasses. This chic bag I carry on many occasions.

I'm wearing:
Zara swater;
Uta Raasch shirt;
Koton skirt;
Zara booties;
Parfois bag;
Ray ban sunglasses;
Avon accessories

Activism is a Never Ending Story

Hello everyone. I just wanted to say quick Hello before the weekend. Today was an amazing day. I received the first (Christmas) present this year: Cute orange hat from the organizers of "16 Days of Activism against Gender- Based Violence". Symbolic present for supporting their campaign on my blog.

I also wanted to share my gratitude to all who joined the campaign. You made me so proud for raising your voice against violence to women and girls. But we must remind ourselves that the fight can't stop here. Only together we can make a change. If we are loud enough We can change discriminatory structures and mindsets.

That's why You have to Say NO to Violence Against Women and Girls! Now is the time for action!

Let's Orange UR World...

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender- Based Violence occur at a critical juncture for efforts to end violence against women and girls. This is a very important subject to talk about because I believe that ending violence against women and girls and gender equality are one of the greatest challenges of 21st century. As I write this I am getting so emotional and at the same time so defied as a female, reading all this statistics from UN agencies and civil organizations. Violence against women and girls happens everywhere: in every country, at every level of society. Every day millions of women and girls face the horror of rape, sexual assault, domestic violence. Part of them might be our sisters, friends, colleagues, at some point of their lives. That horrified me. Did you know that across the globe 60 million girls are sexually assaulted on their way to school each year, and according to recent UNICEF report, around 120 million girls worldwide have experienced forced sexual acts?

I’m not writing this just to show you some numbers, but to acknowledge that this problem still exists, all around us, and I know you know it. I know it too. We’re just too lazy to act and we’re always turning our head round it. So next time you hear or see this kind of problem ACT, write about it, speak loud, DO something. The individual becomes mass when everyone starts to believe that the problem can be solved and they’re acting against it. The mass gets global by gathering individual experiences who act against the violence. Everyone have a role to play in the community: politicians, civil organizations, men, boys, religious leaders, teachers, police officers but the most important role have parents. They are the brick builders of their children’s respect for human rights and meaning of gender equality.

And what can WE do: Educate public about discrimination, promote gender equality, and promote women’s empowerment, making sure that the voice of the victims is heard by everyone who can make a change. And we all have to start to BELIEVE

I believe in women’s emancipation, I believe that women can be smarter than this problem and can fight for their rights and identity. I believe that women can be equal to men, I believe that girls can be equal to boys. When I was a little girl, I had male as well as female friends. I was happy playing with anyone and any toys, I was not playing only with the girls. I was part of the girls as well as the boy’s gangs. Today, I’m proud woman knowing that I am equal to all the men in the world. But I made this happened by positioning myself equal to all the boys and I always fought for my rights when someone tried to take that feeling away from me. And yes, I think equality is a feeling. And you have to find it in yourself. Sooner you feel it, it’s better for the world: One case less to fight for.

We all have to make some sacrifice to give a better opportunities not only for ourselves, but for our daughters, and learn how to become a force for justice and CHANGE. So no more ignorance. No more.

Where The Wild Things Are by Jovana Filipovic

The Macedonian fashion designer Jovana Filipovic had the honor to open the new edition of Fashion weekend Skopje. Her autumn/winter 2015 collection was inspired by the dynamic of the love affair, told by the language of exotic glamorous safari chic. Filipovic was thinking about luxurious night with candles in Savanna, where the scent of saffron and cinnamon is awakening deeper wild side of the things in both lovers- she and he. We've seen two kinds of clothes in her line: the first one was urban elegant day-wear and the second, bold, evening and extravagant pieces.

Her story was told in about twenty pieces: over-sized coats in monochrome colors worn with fur, mini-dresses in sheering black and green, sleeves trench style dress in black and grey (I totally loved this one) and my personal favorite- the hood jacket. What can I say I’m totally blown out by Red Riding-hood style. And these were the pieces on the safe side. The bolder one came to the end of the show, when few of the models had literally shown their sexy backs and legs. The long dresses were made from easy fabrics, with naked back and sexy cut off on the thigh. They came in military green, and animal print materials, all combined with fur (which was adding more sexiness to the look). The designer presented mature understanding for the needs of the modern women and at the same time of the modern men, by presenting male fashion. The presented male pieces totally fit in her contemporary story. Male collection offered urban coats, modern tailored shirts and pants, again with minimalist style.

What I also love about this collection is the choices of the fabrics: silk, cashmere and wool what made the pieces to be so playful and flattering, but at the same time so wearable. As for the accessories, I already mentioned I loved the fur, as well as the printed tights (my regular blog followers know that I’m tights freak) and the little collars worn with the dresses.

With one word - I would definitely love to be on her wild side of the story. Wouldn't you?
