Where The Wild Things Are by Jovana Filipovic

The Macedonian fashion designer Jovana Filipovic had the honor to open the new edition of Fashion weekend Skopje. Her autumn/winter 2015 collection was inspired by the dynamic of the love affair, told by the language of exotic glamorous safari chic. Filipovic was thinking about luxurious night with candles in Savanna, where the scent of saffron and cinnamon is awakening deeper wild side of the things in both lovers- she and he. We've seen two kinds of clothes in her line: the first one was urban elegant day-wear and the second, bold, evening and extravagant pieces.

Her story was told in about twenty pieces: over-sized coats in monochrome colors worn with fur, mini-dresses in sheering black and green, sleeves trench style dress in black and grey (I totally loved this one) and my personal favorite- the hood jacket. What can I say I’m totally blown out by Red Riding-hood style. And these were the pieces on the safe side. The bolder one came to the end of the show, when few of the models had literally shown their sexy backs and legs. The long dresses were made from easy fabrics, with naked back and sexy cut off on the thigh. They came in military green, and animal print materials, all combined with fur (which was adding more sexiness to the look). The designer presented mature understanding for the needs of the modern women and at the same time of the modern men, by presenting male fashion. The presented male pieces totally fit in her contemporary story. Male collection offered urban coats, modern tailored shirts and pants, again with minimalist style.

What I also love about this collection is the choices of the fabrics: silk, cashmere and wool what made the pieces to be so playful and flattering, but at the same time so wearable. As for the accessories, I already mentioned I loved the fur, as well as the printed tights (my regular blog followers know that I’m tights freak) and the little collars worn with the dresses.

With one word - I would definitely love to be on her wild side of the story. Wouldn't you?
